About The Position

The Assisted Living floor care is responsible for maintaining and cleaning all common area flooring and extracting carpets as assigned. Cleaning resident flooring/ carpeting as needed. Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping of floors and collecting recycling and trash. Keeping residents’ flooring clean and as odor free as possible Maintaining schedules and other duties as assigned by Supervisor and Director. Maintain a clean and fresh environment in all assigned areas of campus. Is responsible for the day to day operations of floor care completing work orders assigned. Performs any of the essential Floor care tech/ janitor Ensures that all assigned areas are cleaned according to schedule Perform cleaning duties in assigned areas. Always follow safety regulations and always follow established infection control and chemical safety protocol. Cleans and maintains assigned work areas and equipment. Maintains and ensures resident items are taken care of and cleaned as necessary. Ensures that all documentation and check lists are competed daily as assigned. Maintains acceptable standards of personal hygiene and complies with department dress code. Attends in-service training and education sessions assigned. completed various side jobs as assigned.

Requirements

  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic, uses a cash register and make change.
  • Must Be able to bend, stoop, twist, push pull carts and other physical movements.
  • Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and subordinates.
  • Must be able to perform duties in a timely manner consistent with the needs of the residents, and assigned schedules.
  • Must be able to understand and effectively support and apply DRV policies and procedures as they apply to circumstances that arise.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with seniors, their guests and DRV staff members.
  • Must be able to work with chemicals safely.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to push and pull carts and floor care equipment.
  • Use of technology to complete assigned work orders in a timely manner.
  • Must be able to work with chemicals, use heavy floor care equipment, determine when and where cleaning should be done, move from area to area, deal with emergency cleaning as needed.
