About The Position

QUA, meaning “to overcome,” is inspired by Saigon’s historic Chinatown, Chợ Lớn, and rooted in Chef Viet Nguyen’s family history. QUA serves Chinese dishes shaped by a Vietnamese backdrop, blending tradition and personal memory. The Floor Assistant will serve guests, provide drinks and refills, and ensure a clean and welcoming environment. This role involves removing used tableware, clearing and resetting tables, and maintaining the cleanliness of the dining area.

Requirements

Food Handlers card training provided.
Responsible Beverage Service license (if required).
6 months to 1 year of experience in a similar capacity.
Able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
Flexible/adaptable schedule, available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Attention to detail and sanitation rules.
Have working knowledge of the predominant language(s) of our guests.
Knowledge of basic sanitation requirements and food handling safety standards.
Be able to carry and serve hot dishes up to 210°F.

Responsibilities

Remove used tableware between courses and provide tableware for the next course.
Clear tables after guests leave. Take tableware to the dish room and place silverware, dishes, glassware, etc., in appropriate areas for washing.
Between seatings, promptly clean table tops, chairs, and booths. Check the floor and clean as required. Reset and arrange tabletops.
Respond appropriately to guest requests.
Facilitate food delivery promptly.
Thank guests as they leave.
Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.
Perform any additional tasks as requested, such as assisting with food preparation when necessary.
