About The Position

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Underwriting team at Torrent Technologies. This role will be based in Kalispell, or can be performed Remotely Nationwide. As a Flood Underwriter, you will work under the supervision of the Underwriting Manager, reviewing and analyzing quotations while servicing an existing book of business.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, with 1+ year of insurance underwriting or recent flood insurance experience.
Customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
Basic to intermediate technical proficiency, including Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

2+ years of underwriting experience with ANFI designation.
Knowledge of flood insurance practices, underwriting methodologies, and insurance procedures/policies.
Strong time management skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Responsibilities

Underwrite new submissions to ensure new policies are correct, per guidelines.
Process endorsements, cancellations, and reinstatements, handle billing issues, and complete policy issuance.
Review all underwriting information, including applications, photographs, elevation certificates, and third-party internet resources to accurately underwrite policies.
Provide customer service to agents via phone support, online chat, and emails, meeting required production KPIs as defined by leadership.
Deescalate difficult customer situations and bring them to complete resolution.
Actively participate in group activities, including daily huddles, team meetings, and training opportunities.
