About The Position

New York Preschool & Kids Club is seeking a Floating Teacher to join their mission of providing New York City’s 0-6-year-olds with a foundation for lifelong learning. In this role, you will be a multi-hyphenate, leading and assisting in a variety of classes for children ages 0 to 6 years, teaching everything from preschool to art and STEM classes. You will help children build confidence, coordination, and social skills through activities and structured play, ensuring a “safe to fail” environment. You will also support with transitions, classroom organization, and daily operations, acting as a teammate who sees a need and jumps in. Additionally, you will build trust with parents and caregivers through daily updates, sharing the successes and challenges of their child’s day, and building a bridge between school and home. Requirements

  • A High School Diploma is required.
  • 2+ years of lead teaching experience in pre-k, camp, after school, and other enrichment experiences for ages 0-6.
  • Be a passionate teacher and lifelong learner!
  • Physical exam and background checks are required for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Seamlessly adapting to support different classes based on evolving program needs.
  • Anticipating classroom requirements and preparing resources well in advance of instruction.
  • Executing smooth, efficient hand-offs between classes and activities to maximize learning time.
  • Cultivating trust-based relationships with students, families, and the internal team.
  • Maintaining 100% compliance with all study plans and certification requirements.
