About The Position

Magical Beginnings is seeking a Floating Teacher to support their Middleton school on River Street. This role provides crucial support to classrooms throughout the school, ensuring the program runs smoothly and maintaining high standards of childcare. The ideal candidate is a creative, positive, engaging, flexible, and team-oriented individual eager to contribute to a nurturing and educational environment for young children.

Requirements

  • EEC Teacher Certification (any age group), CDA, or equivalent degree and experience
  • Daycare experience in a center-based or private school setting
  • Availability to work 32-40 hours per week until 5:30 pm
  • Ability to spend extended periods of time on the floor with the children
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to stand up to 90% of the workday
  • Attentiveness, strong time management, and a team-focused mindset

Responsibilities

  • Providing substitute coverage for classrooms when Teachers are absent or on breaks.
  • Assisting with the routine opening and closing of classrooms, including cleaning and preparation.
  • Supporting teachers with classroom activities, material preparation, and student engagement.
  • Assisting with daily routines such as supervision during outdoor time, bathroom needs, diapering, meal times, and nap times.
  • Adhering to the daily classroom schedule.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the school facilities, including common areas and bathrooms.
  • Encouraging children's participation through age-appropriate interactive activities.
  • Maintaining EEC required professional development hours and PQ registry.
  • Attending monthly staff meetings.
  • Creating a fun and safe learning environment.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students and parents.
