About The Position

KidBridge Learning Centers, founded in Pembroke in 2011, utilizes a play-based learning approach, integrating Creative Curriculum, weekly STEM lessons, and a literacy focus to provide children with a well-rounded and joyful early education from infancy. As part of the Magical Beginnings family of early learning centers, we are seeking a Floating Teacher to support our Kingston school. This role is crucial for the smooth operation of our program, offering top-notch childcare and fostering collaboration among teachers. The ideal candidate is creative, positive, engaging, flexible, and eager to provide support where needed.

Requirements

  • EEC Teacher Certification (any age group), CDA, or equivalent degree and experience
  • Daycare experience in a center-based or private school setting
  • Availability to work a full-time, flexible schedule within operating hours
  • Ability to spend extended periods of time on the floor with children
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to stand up to 90% of the workday
  • Attentiveness, strong time management, and a team-focused mindset

Responsibilities

  • Providing substitute coverage for Teachers who are out sick, completing planning time, or on breaks.
  • Assisting with the routine opening and closing of classrooms, including cleaning and sanitizing.
  • Supporting classroom teachers by preparing materials, engaging students, supervising outdoor time, and assisting with daily needs like diapering, meals, and naptime.
  • Adhering to the daily classroom schedule.
  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the school, including common areas and bathrooms.
  • Encouraging children's participation through age-appropriate interactive activities.
  • Maintaining EEC required professional development hours and PQ registry.
  • Attending monthly staff meetings.
  • Creating a fun and safe learning environment.
  • Establishing and maintaining positive relationships with students and parents.
