Part Time Afternoon Floating Teacher
About The Position
We are looking for a Part-Time Afternoon Floating Teacher who brings warmth, flexibility, and professionalism to wherever the school needs them most. As a Floating Teacher, you will move through our classrooms—infants, toddlers, preschool, pre-K, and sometimes our after-school program (K–3rd grade)—bringing your best to wherever it's needed. The afternoon shift involves outdoor play, creative exploration, snack and story time, and the warm wind-down before families arrive. You will support lead teachers in maintaining safe, nurturing, and engaging environments, follow Goddard's play-based curriculum, and build genuine relationships with children of all ages. You will serve as a reliable, calming presence that children and staff can count on.
Requirements
- Experience working with multiple age groups in a childcare or school setting
- Adaptable, calm under pressure, and quick to connect with children
- Dependable—the school counts on you to show up ready
- Meet Virginia state licensing and background check requirements
- Can lift up to 50 lbs. as needed
