About The Position

Magical Beginnings is seeking an EEC Certified Floating Teacher to join their team at their South Hamilton school. This role supports multiple classrooms, offering flexibility and variety while ensuring consistency in high-quality child care. The ideal candidate is an experienced floater, infant teacher, toddler teacher, preschool teacher, or early childhood educator who is comfortable adapting across age groups from infants through preschool. The position is full-time and starts in the fall.

Requirements

  • EEC Teacher Certification (Preschool), CDA, or equivalent degree and experience (required)
  • Daycare experience in a center-based or private school setting
  • An engaging and energetic demeanor and a love for helping young children meet and exceed their developmental goals
  • Availability to work Monday through Friday with flexibility to work until 5:30 pm
  • Ability to spend extended periods of time on the floor with the children
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Ability to stand up to 90% of the workday
  • Attentiveness, strong time management, and a team-focused mindset

Responsibilities

  • Providing substitute coverage across classrooms when teachers are out sick, on planning time, or need a break throughout the day
  • Stepping in to support infant, toddler, and preschool classrooms as needed, maintaining consistent quality of care
  • Following each classroom's existing routines, lesson plans, and schedules to provide continuity for children and lead teachers
  • Assisting with daily routines, including meals or bottles, diapering, outdoor time, and naptime, as appropriate to each age group
  • Helping maintain cleanliness throughout the school, including classrooms, common areas, and shared spaces
  • Keeping parents informed and building positive relationships with children and families across classrooms
  • Maintaining your EEC-required professional development hours and PQ registry
  • Helping children build independence, language, and confidence, appropriate to their age and developmental stage
