About The Position

The Granite YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Floating Site Director to provide leadership and support across their elementary school before and after school programs in the Manchester and Goffstown area. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys variety, building relationships, and stepping in where they are needed most to help programs thrive. As a Floating Site Director, you will support multiple program locations, providing site leadership, staff coaching, and operational coverage when regular Site Directors are absent or when additional leadership support is needed. You will play a key role in maintaining high-quality programming and ensuring children, families, and staff have a positive experience every day. This position offers a consistent Monday through Friday afternoon schedule (approximately 2:30 PM - 6:00 PM), with opportunities for additional hours during school vacations, no-school days, and special programs. Full-time opportunities may become available in the future for candidates interested in career growth within the YMCA.

Requirements

  • Meet New Hampshire Child Care Licensing requirements for a School Age Site Director
  • Experience in childcare, youth development, education, recreation, or a related field
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to adapt quickly and work effectively in different program environments
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, school partners, and staff
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, or willingness to obtain upon hire
  • Commitment to the YMCA's core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership coverage and support at licensed school-age childcare programs
  • Step into Site Director responsibilities as needed across multiple locations
  • Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for children, families, and staff
  • Support and mentor Group Leaders and Assistant Group Leaders
  • Ensure YMCA standards and New Hampshire Child Care Licensing requirements are met
  • Assist with daily operations, including attendance, behavior guidance, and program implementation
  • Build positive relationships with families, school personnel, and YMCA staff
  • Help maintain program quality, organization, and compliance
  • Support vacation camp programs, family events, and special activities as needed
