About The Position

The Floating PT Med Passer is responsible for the safe and timely administration of medications to individuals residing in New Way residential homes. Working on a fixed schedule, this role travels daily between 4 program sites to support afternoon and evening medication administration needs. This position will be evaluated after 90 days, and while hours and shifts are guaranteed, the floating structure and enhanced pay rate are subject to review based on program needs and outcomes. New Way is MHA’s residential and community-based program supporting individuals with acquired brain injuries (ABI) from trauma, stroke, or serious illness. Our team helps participants overcome physical, emotional, and cognitive challenges, build skills, and gain independence through personalized care, meaningful daily routines, and supportive homes in welcoming neighborhoods. With 24/7 support, nursing, clinical, and therapeutic services, we help participants reconnect with their communities, regain confidence, and live life to the fullest.

Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, sufficient auto insurance, and acceptable driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
  • Must hold a current MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification and have a strong track record of accurate medication administration.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and follow through with responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and documentation procedures.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

  • college degree in human services or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of six months of experience administering medications or supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, brain injuries, or mental health needs preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow a designated daily schedule to administer medications at multiple residential sites within required time frames.
  • Adhere to Medication Administration Program (MAP) guidelines, including the 5 Rights (Right Person, Medication, Time, Dose, Route).
  • Perform all three MAP checks during every medication administration to ensure accuracy and safety.
  • Accurately document all scheduled and PRN medications in compliance with MAP standards.
  • Monitor medication supplies, complete daily counts, and promptly report discrepancies or medication occurrences to nursing/supervisory staff.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff for ongoing MAP training, feedback, and support.
  • Travel safely between program sites using a reliable vehicle and submit mileage documentation for reimbursement.
  • Maintain professionalism, discretion, and respectful communication with staff, residents, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and compliance with agency policies, health regulations, and safety procedures.
  • Communicate proactively with a supervisor to address any scheduling barriers or unexpected issues.
