About The Position

The Floating Certified Medical Assistant is a part-time position responsible for providing clinical, occupational, laboratory, and administrative support at various ProHealth locations throughout the Florida Panhandle. This position requires flexibility to travel between locations and assist with patient care, occupational health services, laboratory services, and general clinic operations based on business and patient needs. The Floating Certified Medical Assistant is expected to provide excellent patient care, maintain accurate and timely documentation, and perform all duties in accordance with company policies and applicable healthcare, OSHA, safety, and Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements.

Requirements

  • Phlebotomy or MA Certification Required along with a high school diploma or its equivalent
  • Minimum of one year experience in a medical office setting.
  • Must be able to work outside of normal business hours (7:30am to 4pm) AND on Saturdays.
  • Must be US Citizen or otherwise authorized to work in the US.
  • Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must communicate professionally and effectively with patients, coworkers, management, and outside business contacts.
  • Must possess the ability to multi-task.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to obtain access to military bases.
  • Have a strong commitment to excellence in patient care.
  • Possess high ethical standards carrying out responsibilities with integrity, honesty and loyalty.
  • Must be a critical thinker and problem solver.
  • Excellent time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • EMR experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform occupational health testing, including breath alcohol testing, respirator fit testing, and other occupational tests as required.
  • Collect and process drug-screen specimens, including urine, hair, and blood, in accordance with company procedures and applicable Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines.
  • Perform blood draws and prepare specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Perform in-house clinical procedures, including EKGs, audiometry, pulmonary function testing (PFT), A1c testing, urinalysis (UA), and other procedures as directed.
  • Obtain and accurately document patient vital signs, including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation.
  • Administer vaccines as directed and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, ensuring appropriate documentation.
  • Provide clinical and administrative support at various ProHealth clinic and laboratory locations and assist with general clinic operations as needed.
  • Cross-train and provide front-desk support, including patient check-in and check-out, answering phones, scheduling follow-up appointments, and assisting patients with general inquiries.
  • Complete patient documentation, data entry, scanning, billing, patient notes, and other required administrative tasks accurately and timely using Practice Fusion and other company systems.
  • Perform patient follow-up calls and address patient questions or concerns promptly, escalating issues to management when appropriate.
  • Maintain adequate supplies, cleanliness, organization, and proper opening and closing procedures at assigned locations.
  • Follow all applicable OSHA, safety, healthcare, infection-control, and company policies and procedures while maintaining a professional and approachable manner with patients, staff, and outside business contacts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
