About The Position

The Floating Lead Service Technician is responsible for ensuring REAC Ready standards across assigned sites. This role involves overseeing the success of various projects, including site support, lender-required repairs, site improvements, due diligence, and other assigned projects. The technician ensures that the physical aspects of the community meet the company's standards for safety, appearance, and operation within budget. Daily inspections of grounds, buildings, and community features are required to identify and mitigate hazards. The role includes overseeing property maintenance, repairs, unit make-ready processes, preventative maintenance, and construction projects to ensure quality and efficiency. Maintaining a well-organized and stocked maintenance shop while adhering to safety standards is also a key responsibility. Under the direction of the Support Team Supervisor, the Floating Lead Service Technician will supervise, train, and schedule maintenance activities for assigned projects, monitor work progress, provide assistance, and report to stakeholders. This position requires on-call availability for emergencies and adherence to federal, state, and local laws, including Fair Housing and OSHA regulations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • 3+ years of multi-family maintenance experience or at least 3+ years of commercial maintenance experience
  • EPA Sec 608 Certification (Type I + Type II, or Type Universal)
  • Familiarity with plumbing repairs, tile work, HVAC equipment, appliances, carpentry repairs, electrical repairs, and apartment make-ready processes
  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Ability to stand and/or sit for long periods of time, move through the community, maneuver around equipment, and climb ladders
  • Willingness to be on-call
  • Ability to climb up and down a ladder
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Collaborative team player
  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing 50 pounds or more
  • Ability to work occasionally in poor weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)

  • Scheduling and responding to on-call/after-hour emergencies.
  • Adhering to federal, state, and local laws pertaining to Fair Housing and OSHA regulations.
