About The Position

The benchmark of American security has an immediate job opportunity for a Floating Armed Security Officer in West Palm Beach. As an Armed Security Officer, you will conduct armed foot and/or vehicle patrol (interior and/or exterior), control access and egress, monitor CCTV and alarm systems, compose reports, deter criminal activity and misconduct and perform other duties as specified in post orders. The Floating Security Officer may be called upon to work irregular shifts at times with little to no advance notice to cover call offs, vacation leaves, and/or extra coverage requests.

Requirements

Possess valid Florida Class D and G security licenses
Possess valid Driver’s License
High School Diploma or equivalent
21 years of age or older
Ability to pass background screening and drug test
Ability to pass a mental health assessment
Reliable transportation
Clear verbal and written communication skills

Ability to identify critical issues quickly and accurately

Must be able to successfully complete all training required for the position

Ability to perform duties in both indoor and outdoor settings.
Must be capable of working in diverse weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain, for extended periods.
Ability to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing), walk for extended periods, traverse the property, or move between posts for the duration of an 8-hour shift, or as operationally required.
Must be able to maintain constant alertness and professional posture throughout the assigned period.
Ability to continuously walk on various surfaces including pavement, grass, and uneven terrain while conducting interior and exterior rounds.
Must be able to react quickly to emergency situations, which may include running, climbing stairs, or navigating obstacles.
Must have the visual acuity to monitor CCTV and observe surroundings, and the auditory ability to respond to alarms and communicate via two-way radio or telephone.
Frequent reaching; occasional squatting, kneeling, or stooping to inspect vehicles or property.
Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push, or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to clearly exchange information, provide instructions, and draft written reports in English.
Must maintain mental alertness and attention to detail during long periods of observation.

Responsibilities

Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle
Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards
Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons
Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles
Permit authorized people to enter property and monitor entrances and exits
Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities
Aid customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
