About The Position
Atkore is hiring a part-time Floater for its Pueblo, Colorado facility, working the night shift from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Reporting to the Manufacturing Supervisor, the Floater is responsible for the quality and accurate production of fiberglass elbows. The role includes preparing materials and assisting with bending and other production tasks, inspecting finished elbows, performing assigned maintenance, and maintaining housekeeping in the work area. The position pays $20.00 per hour, with a $1.00 shift premium. Placement in the pay range depends on factors such as relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, and business needs. Other compensation may include overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives. Benefits are subject to eligibility and vesting requirements.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good math skills for accurate counting, calculations, and measurements, including radius, inside and outside diameter, and length.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, time management, and organization.
- Ability to adapt to changes, manage competing demands, and handle frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events calmly and logically.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
Nice To Haves
- One year of previous shop experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Gather all supplies needed for the duration of the shift.
- Assist with initiating bending, including cutting and sanding preparation, placing materials in the oven, cooling, verifying angles, and labeling.
- Relieve the Bender for breaks and lunches.
- Assist with red striping, cutting, or swedging as directed.
- Perform final inspections of elbows for angle, labeling, and appearance.
- Perform maintenance tasks as directed by the supervisor.
- Maintain housekeeping in the assigned area.
- Perform other tasks assigned by the Supervisor or Shift Lead.
