About The Position

The Floater supports classroom teachers and provides care, supervision, and assistance to children throughout the day. The role moves between classrooms as needed to cover breaks, lunches, staff absences, and busy periods. The Floater helps with age-appropriate activities, routines, transitions, meals, personal care, and maintaining clean, organized, and safe classroom spaces. The position requires flexibility to work in different classrooms and to follow center policies, safety procedures, and licensing requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers with daily activities, routines, and transitions.
• Provide care, supervision, and support to children throughout the day.
• Cover breaks, lunches, staff absences, and busy periods by stepping into classrooms as needed.
• Help prepare and participate in age-appropriate activities.
• Support children with meals, diapering, toileting, handwashing, and other personal-care needs as appropriate.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
• Assist with cleaning and sanitizing classrooms, toys, tables, bathrooms, and other areas as assigned.
• Follow center policies, safety procedures, and licensing requirements.
• Communicate respectfully and professionally with children, families, teachers, and management.
• Help create a positive, welcoming, and fun environment for children.
• Work flexibly in different classrooms throughout the center.
