About The Position

Guardian Service Industries, a 4th generation family-owned company established in 1918, provides comprehensive facility management services including Janitorial, Security, Pest Control, and Engineering & Operations staffing. They serve over 1,000 clients across commercial, government, residential, educational, industrial, transportation, and retail sectors along the East Coast and New England. This role involves a variety of service tasks to ensure the safety and smooth operation of buildings.

Requirements

Valid Security Guard License, as dictated by state legislation
8 hour + 16 hour certificates
Fire Guards: FO1, FO3, & FO4
Must be able to adapt physically and to the changing needs and priorities of the site.
Upon hire, employees must successfully pass a background check

Responsibilities

Positively interact with residents, guests, and vendors while assisting with day-to-day requests and resolving complaints
Communicate with building management and other staff to ensure smooth daily operations
Log and keep track of both concierge and building keys for resident use or move-in/move outs
Maintain safety and security of the building, including monitoring security cameras, responding to emergencies and concerns promptly and efficiently, and exercising great judgement including escalating issues immediately
Handle package deliveries, including logging and distributing, as well as external vendor deliveries
Maintain accurate and complete shift logs ensuring proper "handover" for successful communication through shift changes
Conduct patrol of the site interior and perimeter to identify potential security and safety risks or undesirable conditions. Evaluates situations and makes logical decisions on how to proceed and direct work.
Coordinate expedient responses to emergency conditions, including fires, safety hazards and threats to life and/or property in a calm, rational and persuasive manner. Handles undesired conduct, violations of building policy and civil laws as warranted for the security and safety of guests, employees, patrons and property.
Maintain surveillance and reporting of any suspicious persons and/or packages.
Execute a number of comprehensive and integrated security measures and countermeasures
Adapt physically and to the changing needs and priorities of the site.
