About The Position

The Floater Pharmacist packages and dispenses prescribed drugs in a clinical environment, handles incoming physician calls, logs data into the computer, performs prescription workflow processing, and conducts drug utilization reviews. This full-time position provides coverage among Avita’s three Alabama pharmacy locations as needed, primarily at Avita #1044 at the Magic Center Wellness Center in Birmingham. The work schedule varies based on each location’s operating hours. Additional pharmacy locations are in Montgomery and Dothan. Pharmacy hours are Monday through Friday, with hours varying by location. The pharmacist manages pharmacy operations and maintains quality pharmaceutical care and services while filling in for the PIC. The role involves dispensing and ordering medications, maintaining inventory, directing pharmacy staff workflow, collaborating with physicians and clinic personnel, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, company policies, and patient confidentiality requirements. The position is safety-sensitive because it involves patient care, medication handling, access to controlled substances, and other regulated healthcare functions. Requirements

Bachelor’s or Doctoral (PharmD) degree in Pharmacy from an accredited university.
Pharmacist license in good standing in the State of Alabama.
Completion of an ACPE-accredited immunization training program.
Excellent interpersonal, customer-service, managerial, and communication skills.
Ability to work efficiently, mentor, and supervise staff in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to travel to Avita’s Alabama pharmacy locations as needed.

Nice To Haves

At least 1 year of full-time retail or clinic pharmacy experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage pharmacy operations and maintain high-quality pharmaceutical care and services while filling in for the PIC.
Dispense and order drugs and maintain proper inventory of drugs and supplies in accordance with state and federal laws.
Direct the activities and workflow efficiency of pharmacy staff.
Collaborate with physicians regarding potential incompatibility issues with patient prescriptions.
Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and regulations governing the practice of pharmacy.
Keep up to date with changing laws, regulations, and pharmacy-related programs.
Consult with clinic providers, administrators, and other personnel as appropriate.
Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA.
Maintain a clean, customer-friendly workplace and project a professional, positive attitude.
Perform in accordance with company policies, standards, core values, and goals.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Travel among the Alabama pharmacy locations as needed to provide coverage.
