About The Position

Brains and Motion Education (BAM!) is seeking enthusiastic Floater Instructors to join their team. BAM! provides engaging STEM, Arts, and Sports enrichment programs in local schools and communities, aiming to help students grow and explore their interests in a fun and memorable way. The organization has a proven track record, having inspired over 100,000 students and impacted more than 1,000 schools with its innovative programs. BAM! is dedicated to equipping children with the tools they need to thrive through quality enrichment and sports programs, as well as guided recess.

Requirements

  • At least two years of college coursework (48 semester units), an associate’s degree or higher, or proof of certification through a local assessment that meets the requirements of the "Every Student Succeeds Act".
  • 1-2 years of experience in STEAM, Arts, or Sports, with a passion for working with youth.
  • Excellent classroom management and the ability to connect with students from kindergarten to 8th grade.
  • Flexibility to travel between program locations; reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license or State ID required.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Willingness to undergo additional training as needed.
  • Ability to lift and carry 20-50 lbs. occasionally, with or without accommodations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead STEAM and Sports activities, guiding students to explore, create, and grow their skills.
  • Teach the fundamentals of various activities, from beginner to advanced, ensuring each student can progress at their own pace.
  • Foster a collaborative, positive environment that promotes teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth.
  • Deliver BAM! STEAM/Sports programs, including subjects like Coding (Python & Scratch), Robotics, Digital Arts, Game Design, Creative Writing, Soccer, Basketball, Tennis, Flag Football, and more.
  • Serve as a substitute instructor at different program locations as needed.
  • Assist with program inventory, preparation, and other assigned tasks when not actively teaching.
