About The Position
This role is for a Floater Direct Support Professional with a flexible 32-hour Monday-Friday schedule. The position involves supporting individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities by promoting independence through choice, providing physical and emotional support, and networking within the community for social and employment opportunities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Must possess a valid NYS driver’s license.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Promote individualization by honoring and offering choices to help encourage independence by actively involving program participants in various aspects of daily life.
- Provide physical assistance and emotional supports as needed.
- Network within the community to assist with development of friendships, employment/volunteer opportunities and natural supports.
