About The Position

Alternatives, Inc. is seeking a Full-time Floater Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Caregiver to support adults with intellectual/developmental disabilities in Monmouth and Ocean County. The role involves assisting residents with daily living activities, implementing behavioral plans, teaching new skills, and encouraging community involvement. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license with a good driving record
Ability to pass criminal/registry background checks and a drug screen
Clear tuberculosis (TB) screening
Ability to pass and maintain required trainings such as CPR/first aid, medication administration, and positive behavioral support training
Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

Assist residents with activities of daily living such as administering medication, cooking meals, performing personal hygiene, and transportation to medical appointments.
Assist in the implementation of individual behavioral plans.
Teach new skills and help clients achieve goals using effective teaching and mentoring techniques.
Encourage client interests and drive them to community outings and recreational activities based on individual preferences and behavioral plans.
Report any concerns about client health and safety.
Keep documentation accurate and up-to-date.
Work scheduled shifts as well as unscheduled shifts due to emergencies.
Work all scheduled shifts at all the programs within the region, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, overnights, and weekend shifts.
