About The Position

Skill Creations, Inc., a nonprofit agency, is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to help people with disabilities meet their personal goals. The DSP will provide care and support in the individual's home and in community settings, tailored to their specific needs and goals. This role requires a female candidate due to personal care needs. Hours range from 6-36 per week, with options for 20 hours with one client and 6-16 hours with a second client. More hours are available in Asheville. Requirements

Comfort with providing full incontinence care
High School Diploma, GED, or College Transcript
Valid NC Driver's license and acceptable Driving Record
Insured vehicle for client transportation
Pass a Criminal Record Check
Completion of paid training in CPR/First Aid and Behavior Management
Basic computer skills for e-mail, electronic training modules, and data recording
Personal phone with internet access
Ability to remain on one's feet most of the time
Ability to lift 50 pounds, and to occasionally balance, bend, stoop, and kneel
Prompt and regular attendance, including during inclement weather and some holidays
Ability to meet client-specific needs
Must be female due to personal care needs of the client

Responsibilities

Provide personal care, including incontinence care
Offer behavioral support
Administer medication
Engage in community activities such as bingo, library visits, coffee shops, and social gatherings
Facilitate opportunities for recreation and leisure
