Float Team Cleaner / Janitor / Custodial
About The Position
Howard Building Maintenance is hiring a full-time Float Team Cleaner to help support a variety of commercial cleaning accounts throughout the Treasure Valley. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, independence, teamwork, and staying active throughout their shift. Every day is different — different buildings, different environments, different challenges — while working alongside a team that values reliability, professionalism, and hard work. As part of our Float Team, you’ll play an important role in helping cover accounts, support special projects, assist with staffing needs, and help ensure our clients consistently receive exceptional service. The position involves starting each shift at the Caldwell shop, picking up a company vehicle and supplies, and traveling to different commercial buildings throughout the Treasure Valley. Some nights you may work independently, while other nights you may work with a partner or team. Company vehicle and fuel are provided during working hours. This is an excellent position for someone who enjoys movement, variety, and not being stuck in the same place every day.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation to and from our Caldwell shop
- Smartphone required for communication
- Ability to pass background and drug screening
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Must be at least 18 years of age
Nice To Haves
- Professional cleaning experience preferred, but not required — we are willing to train the right person
- Experienced in professional cleaning (1 year preferred)
- Hardworking, dependable, and team-oriented with a positive, can-do attitude
- Comfortable working independently and adapting to different work environments
- Detail-oriented and motivated to maintain high cleaning standards
- Physically capable of staying active throughout the shift
Responsibilities
- Dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and restroom cleaning
- Trash removal and maintaining clean common areas
- Restocking janitorial and paper supplies
- Facility inspections and reporting concerns
- Assisting with deliveries and supply organization
- Supporting special cleaning projects when needed
- Maintaining high-quality cleaning standards across all accounts
