About The Position
Clinica Sierra Vista is a large Federally Qualified Health Center serving diverse populations, including field workers, inner-city residents, rural and isolated individuals, and families from various cultural backgrounds. They are committed to providing care regardless of immigration status. The organization is seeking individuals who prioritize the patient experience. This role involves assisting dentists in various procedures, operating radiography equipment, applying topical agents, removing dressings, and potentially filling in as a Dental Receptionist. The position requires adherence to infection control, HIPPA, radiology policies, and sterilization protocols. The role operates under the direct supervision of a licensed dentist, who must be physically present and maintain full professional responsibility for the procedures performed.
Requirements
- Must possess both California license for Registered Dental Assistant and sealant certificate.
- Graduation from high school.
- Possession of State Radiological Certification.
Nice To Haves
- Two years’ experience is preferred.
- Preferably bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Willingness to participate in expanded duty program as such program becomes operational.
- Desire to work closely with patients and staff.
Responsibilities
- Be proficient in four-handed dentistry.
- Assist the dentist in all aspects of chairside assisting.
- Drape and seat the patient in the dental chair.
- Place proper tray setup and prepare the developing room.
- Confirm all treatment is recorded in the chart and all necessary information of the patient visit is indicated on route slips.
- Operate Dental radiography equipment.
- Apply topical agents.
- Remove dressings.
- Be an active and enthusiastic team member.
- Fill in as Dental Receptionist to answer telephone calls, route and assist incoming patients and any other tasks as designated.
- Follow Infection Control policies.
- Follow HIPPA Policies.
- Follow Radiology Policies.
- Follow sterilization protocols and consistently demonstrate adherence to the sterilization process.
- Perform other work-related duties as required.
