About The Position

Clinica Sierra Vista is seeking a Registered Dental Assistant to join their team at the East Bakersfield Dental Center. As one of the largest Federally Qualified Health Centers in the Nation, Clinica Sierra Vista is dedicated to serving diverse communities, including agricultural workers, inner-city residents, rural populations, and individuals from various cultural backgrounds and income levels. This role operates under the direct supervision of a dentist, ensuring all procedures are performed according to the dentist's instructions and under their full professional responsibility.

Requirements

  • Two years of experience is preferred.
  • Must possess both California license for Registered Dental Assistant and sealant certificate.
  • Graduation from high school.
  • Possession of State Radiological Certification.
  • Must adhere to Clinica Sierra Vista’s employee health/immunization requirements or provide a valid exemption request for subsequent approval.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferably bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • Willingness to participate in expanded duty program as such program becomes operational.
  • Desire to work closely with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient in four-handed dentistry.
  • Assist the dentist in all aspects of chairside assisting, including draping and seating the patient, placing tray setups, and preparing the treatment room.
  • Confirm all treatment is recorded in the patient's chart and that necessary information is indicated on route slips.
  • Operate dental radiography equipment.
  • Apply topical agents.
  • Remove dressings.
  • Act as an active and enthusiastic team member.
  • Fill in as Dental Receptionist, including answering telephone calls, assisting incoming patients, and performing other designated tasks.
  • Follow Infection Control policies and sterilization protocols, consistently demonstrating adherence to the sterilization process.
  • Perform other work-related duties as required.
