About The Position

LabCorp is seeking a Float Phlebotomist to join our team in Austin, TX. This role offers variety by working with a variety of patients, team members, and clinics/locations, allowing for skill development and continuous growth within the organization. The Float Phlebotomist will cover sites in Austin, TX and surrounding areas (75+ miles).

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Will cover sites in Austin, TX and surrounding areas (75+ miles)
Ability to work in a fast paced / high volume work environment
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Be 21 years of age or older and have a clean driving record
Access to reliable transportation
Flexibility to work overtime as needed
Exceptional customer service
Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
Ability to work independently or in a team environment
Comfortable working under minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

2 or more years' phlebotomy experience working in a clinical / hospital environment
1 or more years' experience assisting all patient age groups (pediatric - geriatric)
Current or prior LabCorp experience

Responsibilities

Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
Process billing information and collect payments when required
Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
Maintain patient and specimen information logs
Provide superior customer service to all patients
Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
Travel to various clinic sites
