About The Position

An Float Ophthalmic Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting ophthalmologists in providing eye care services to patients. They assist with both clinical and administrative tasks, contributing to the efficient operation of the practice.

Requirements

  • One-year experience in a customer facing position preferred
  • Medical related experience preferred
  • Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
  • Proficient in use of internet
  • High school diploma or GED preferred

Responsibilities

  • Ability to perform specialized eye exam testing while streamlining patient flow.
  • Other diagnostic testing such as: Visual Aids, OCT, Corneal topography, etc...
  • Providing phone support with request for prescription refills as authorized by the physician.
  • Educate patients regarding administration of medications and pre- and post-operative instructions as directed by physician.
  • Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, such as HIPPA guidelines, to maintain patient confidentiality and privacy.
  • Assists with opening and closing duties.
  • Other duties as assigned.
