About The Position

Hands at Home Care Services is hiring Full-Time Float Caregivers in the Portland and surrounding areas. This is a guaranteed-hours position, meaning if a client shift cancels, you still get paid. This role offers stability, flexibility, and respect for your time, ideal for caregivers who enjoy variety, meeting different clients, and want reliable income without worrying about cancellations. When client hours are light, you'll still be paid through training, shadowing, or support work to meet your weekly guarantee. The schedule includes weekdays and weekends, with hours generally between 6:30 AM – 6:00 PM, guaranteeing at least 25 hours/week with potential for more. Occasional daytime backup availability is paid and fully supported. Major holidays are off unless you choose to work. Mileage is reimbursed at $0.725/mile. This role is a great fit for reliable, communicative, flexible individuals who take pride in providing compassionate care. It may not be a good fit for those seeking a single, fixed client, preferring no travel, or unable to commit to a steady weekly schedule.

Requirements

• 1+ year caregiving experience preferred (home care, assisted living, or facility)
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation - Preferred
• Ability to pass a background check
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with mobility
• Immunization records (MMR, Varicella, Flu within past 12 months)

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and assistance with daily activities.
• Offer companionship and light homemaking.
• Provide coverage support for clients when regular caregivers are unavailable.
