About The Position

Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) is seeking four Flight Test Senior Managers to join our Flight Test Team in Patuxent River, MD. These roles will serve as either the Deputy Contractor Flight Test Director for MQ-25, the Contractor Flight Test Director for F-18, the Contractor Flight Test Director for V-22, or the Test Program Manager (TPM) for F-18. The positions are responsible for the day-to-day execution of test programs and daily coordination across Integrated Test Teams (ITTs). They will manage all flight test disciplines at the Pax River test site (and at China Lake for the F-18 TPM) and be responsible for daily coordination with Navy and Boeing program management, maintenance, QA, and instrumentation operations, as well as Navy squadron leadership.

Requirements

  • Active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). (A U.S. security clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 8+ years of experience in a management or team lead role in an engineering or test environment.
  • Experience with interfacing database systems and applications.
  • Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time, with the possibility of spending time at sea.
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Responsibilities

  • Manage employees performing activities within two or more engineering disciplines.
  • Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals.
  • Review contract proposals and work them to completion with applicable Navy and Boeing program leadership.
  • Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers, and lead process improvements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports.
  • Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes.
  • Manage, develop, and motivate employees.
  • Communicate with technical personnel from diverse skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and problems impacting design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables.
  • Communicate with program leadership using a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas.
