About The Position

This role involves leading mission scheduling across various aspects of flight test operations, including aircraft, airspace, ranges, maintenance, instrumentation, frequency usage, and support personnel. The goal is to ensure safe, efficient, and conflict-free execution of test operations. The position requires close coordination with government and contractor test teams to integrate resource requirements, deconflict demands, and ensure timely availability of assets. It also involves supporting long-range strategic scheduling by developing planning products and forecasts for leadership. The scheduler will monitor high-visibility missions in real-time, assess factors like weather and maintenance, and resolve conflicts. Additionally, the role includes overseeing the improvement of scheduling tools and processes, and mentoring junior schedulers.

Requirements

  • More than 10 years of relevant experience in flight operations, mission scheduling, range coordination, or test planning within military aviation environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage mission critical scheduling responsibilities and oversee or guide junior staff.
  • Expert level familiarity with scheduling systems, range coordination processes, aircraft test requirements, and cross organizational resource integration.
  • Proven experience supporting complex test programs and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Master’s degree in an applicable discipline required.
  • Active Top Secret clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mission scheduling across aircraft, airspace, ranges, maintenance, instrumentation, frequency usage, and support personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and conflict free execution of test operations.
  • Coordinate closely with government and contractor test teams to integrate resource requirements, deconflict competing demands, and ensure timely availability of aircraft, range assets, munitions, and specialized test equipment.
  • Support long range strategic scheduling by developing, refining, and presenting planning products, schedule forecasts, resource matrices, and mission timelines for Test Wing leadership.
  • Monitor high visibility test missions in real time, assess emerging factors (weather, maintenance status, airspace constraints), and resolve scheduling conflicts to maintain safe and effective mission execution.
  • Oversee production, refinement, and continuous improvement of scheduling tools, processes, and mission documentation while providing technical guidance and mentorship to less senior schedulers.
