About The Position

Assist Instrumentation Aircraft Coordinator with the planning and coordination of all instrumentation activities performed on aircraft and in shop areas during assigned shift. Provide work direction to instrumentation technicians during the installation, maintenance and test of aircraft instrumentation systems to ensure that work is performed to specifications and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree in Electronics Engineering Technology or a related curriculum required.
  • 6 years in the specific technical dicipline.
  • 8 years broad experience in several technical disciplines
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job
  • or 8 years in the specific technical dicipline.
  • 10 years broad experience in several technical disciplines.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

Nice To Haves

  • Flight Test experience preferred.
  • Project management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Instrumentation Aircraft Coordinator with planning, scheduling and completing tasks on flight test work authorizations in order to meet master schedules.
  • Act on behalf of Instrumentation Aircraft Coordinator in his/her absence and assume the duties and responsibilities of the Instrumentation Aircraft Coordinator when assigned.
  • Manage jobs to ensure completion of tasks to meet aircraft schedule and budget.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure timely delivery of parts and materials.
  • Coordinate with quality department to ensure compliance with FAA regulations and company policies and procedures.
  • Assist flight test management with supervision and instruction of instrumentation technicians in proper procedures and techniques of trouble shooting instrumentation and data acquisition systems, repairs and preventive maintenance.
  • Assist with performance appraisals of subordinates.
  • Maintain a current knowledge of the Flight Test Standard Operating Procedure manual, calibration procedures, pre- and post-flight procedures, inspection requirements, vendor information and all other procedures, publications and general knowledge pertaining to aircraft instrumentation systems.
  • Apply 5S and Lean Initiatives to maintain good housekeeping and safety in all areas to include hangars, break areas and offices.
  • Provides technical assistance in other areas of Flight Test as required.
  • Ensures that flight test work authorizations and instrumentation logs are kept current and accurate.
  • Conduct department safety meetings and demonstrate safe work practice.
  • Ensures and schedules proper technical training of instrumentation technicians within their job scopes.
  • Review daily job charging to ensure accuracy of charges to aircraft.
  • Exchange job related information and coordinate work activities between shifts through turn over reports, meetings and direct contact with aircraft coordinators, instrumentation engineers, flight test engineers, and management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
