About The Position

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented engineering intern to join our Program Management team for the summer focusing on Flight Test Instrumentation (FTI). You will work alongside experienced design engineers, flight test engineers, instrumentation specialists, and program managers supporting the development and delivery of instrumentation and test systems used in experimental and certification flight test campaigns. This is a hands-on role that spans hardware integration, data systems, and cross-functional coordination — giving you broad exposure to what it takes to bring an aircraft from design to first flight and beyond.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Heading into junior or senior year of undergraduate degree or above
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and follow through in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in common workplace software including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation applications

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or project experience in avionics, sensors, data acquisition, or aircraft systems
  • Familiarity with flight test concepts, instrumentation hardware, or signal conditioning
  • Exposure to project management tools such as Smartsheet, Confluence, or JIRA
  • Any hands-on experience with aircraft, UAVs, rocketry, or other aerospace hardware (personal projects welcome)
  • Interest in FAA/EASA type certification processes or airworthiness requirements

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining FTI and ground control station program schedules, helping track hardware procurement, installation milestones, and test readiness activities across active test campaigns
  • Support coordination between design engineers, flight test engineers, and data analysts to help ensure flight test systems meet program and safety requirements
  • Help track open action items, schedule risks, and status updates, and prepare materials for team reviews and management briefings
  • Assist with qualification and acceptance testing of instrumentation systems and sensors prior to flight operations
  • Support documentation of instrumentation calibration records and data quality assurance activities in accordance with program standards
  • Help facilitate anomaly response and tracking related to instrumentation issues, working with engineers to document root cause and corrective action
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of FTI processes, templates, and tracking tools

Benefits

  • Relocation Assistance: This position does not offer relocation assistance. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
