About The Position

We are seeking Flight Software Engineers to design, develop, integrate, and test high-performance real-time embedded software for advanced flight systems. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on building robust software for demanding, safety-critical environments, while working closely with GNC, systems, and hardware teams. We’re looking for engineers who enjoy solving difficult real-time systems problems and can develop reliable flight software while working closely with hardware, GNC, and systems engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
  • C/C++ programming experience.
  • Experience with RTOS.
  • Understanding of hardware/software integration.
  • Familiarity with real-time system constraints.
  • Experience with GNC systems or other control-intensive applications.
  • Strong understanding of simulation and HIL testing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.
  • Active or eligible for a Top Secret security clearance.
  • U.S. work authorization and applicable export-control requirements apply.

Nice To Haves

  • Flight software experience for missile, launch vehicle, or spacecraft systems.
  • FPGA-based systems experience.
  • Embedded software optimization experience.
  • Secure software development or cybersecurity knowledge.
  • Familiarity with agile or iterative development methodologies.
  • Hands-on software verification, validation, and integration experience in defense environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test real-time embedded flight software.
  • Collaborate with GNC engineers, systems engineers, and hardware teams.
  • Develop and maintain software for high-reliability and safety-critical environments.
  • Support simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and flight testing.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and debugging across software and system interfaces.
  • Follow rigorous software lifecycle and configuration-management practices.
  • Support software verification and validation activities.
  • Contribute to development processes, tools, and engineering standards.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and best practices relevant to flight software and real-time systems.
