Flight Simulation Software Engineer (Associate, Experienced, or Senior)
About The Position
The Boeing Company is seeking Flight Simulation Software Engineers (Associate, Experienced, and Senior) to join the Flight Simulation Labs team in Berkeley, MO, supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. These roles focus on designing, developing, and demonstrating avionics solutions for platforms, integrating innovative technologies, and supporting Flight Simulation products. The work involves software development for models and tools supporting the simulation infrastructure for an Air Dominance proprietary program. Specific areas may include creating core simulation infrastructure, developing tools to simulate and monitor subsystem messages, and modeling aircraft capabilities for testing in a constructive environment.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship
- Ability to obtain program access, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only
- 2+ years of experience programming in C, C++ or C#
- 2 + years of proven experience as a Software Engineer
Nice To Haves
- Level 3: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Level 4: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Active Secret Clearance or higher
- Experience in the defense or avionics industry
- Knowledge of basic networking principles
- Experience working on an Agile team using Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira
- Strong coordination and communication skills
- Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment while supporting multiple concurrent activities
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
Responsibilities
- Develops, documents and maintains architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
- Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
- Supports development of simulation environments to support testing performed by Mission Systems engineers
- Works on an agile team in order to accomplish team goals
- Executes and documents software research and development projects
- Works under general direction
