About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking Flight Simulation Software Engineers (Associate, Experienced, and Senior) to join the Flight Simulation Labs team in Berkeley, MO, supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. Our teams are hiring for a broad range of experience levels. Air Dominance software engineers design, develop, and demonstrate avionics solutions for platforms we build and upgrade, assisting in the integration of innovative technologies to maintain battlefield dominance. Additionally, software engineers support Flight Simulation products associated with our platforms, focusing on software development for tools that support simulation infrastructure across Flight Simulation Labs. Selected candidates will be aligned to a statement of work that best suits their interests and skillset, which could include creating core simulation infrastructure, developing tools to simulate, monitor, and capture messages between subsystems, or modeling various aircraft capabilities for constructive scenarios in a testing environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree
Ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post-Start)
2+ years of experience programming in C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada (or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience)
2 + years’ experience as a Software Engineer

Nice To Haves

Level 3: 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Level 4: 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Active Secret Clearance or higher
Experience in the defense or avionics industry
Knowledge of basic networking principles
Experience working on an Agile team using Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira
Strong coordination and communication skills
Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment while supporting multiple concurrent activities
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Responsibilities

Develops, documents and maintains architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
Supports development of simulation environments to support testing performed by Mission Systems engineers
Works on an agile team in order to accomplish team goals
Executes and documents software research and development projects
Works under general direction
