About The Position

The Boeing Company is seeking Flight Simulation Software Engineers (Associate, Experienced, and Senior) to join the Flight Simulation Labs team in Berkeley, MO, supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization. These roles involve software development for tools that support simulation infrastructure across Flight Simulation Labs. Selected candidates will be aligned to a statement of work that best suits their interests and skillset, potentially including creating core simulation infrastructure, developing tools to simulate/monitor/capture messages between subsystems, or modeling aircraft capabilities for constructive scenarios. Our Air Dominance software engineers design, develop, and demonstrate avionics solutions for platforms we build and upgrade, integrating innovative technologies to maintain battlefield dominance. They also support Flight Simulation products associated with our platforms. The teams are hiring for Associate, Experienced, and Senior Level Software Engineers.

Requirements

2+ years of experience programming in C, C++, C#, Python, Java, or Ada (or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience)
2 + years’ experience as a Software Engineer
Ability to obtain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance for which the US Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
Ability to obtain Secret U.S. U.S. clearance (Post-Start).
Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s, Master or Doctor of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Experience in the defense or avionics industry
Knowledge of basic networking principles
Experience working on an Agile team using Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira
Strong coordination and communication skills
Ability to work in a multi-tasking environment while supporting multiple concurrent activities
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment

Responsibilities

Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems
Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system
Supports development of simulation environments to support testing performed by Mission Systems engineers
Works on an agile team in order to accomplish team goals
Executes and documents software research and development projects
Works under general direction
