About The Position

The Flight Paramedic functions in a versatile role that demonstrates professionalism and promotes excellence. Working in conjunction with a CareFlight Nurse during transport, the Flight Paramedic provides advanced emergency and critical care. Using evidence-based principles, the role supports safe and rapid transport of critically ill or injured patients by air ambulance or mobile intensive care to a higher-level medical treatment facility. The Flight Paramedic may also provide care within their scope of practice throughout Premier Health. The position includes public relations and medical education functions.

Requirements

• High school completion or GED.
• Paramedic licensure in the State of Ohio.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications at the time of hire.
• ITLS or PHTLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• NRP certification and ATLS audit within one year of hire.
• A CAMTS-approved professional certification within two years of hire.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of paramedic experience, including transport experience.
• Demonstrated customer focus, including dedication to meeting internal and external customers' expectations and requirements.
• Ability to manage ambiguity, make decisions based on available information, cope with uncertainty and risk, and adapt to change.
• Composure under pressure, without becoming defensive or irritated in difficult situations.
• Ability to work cooperatively with colleagues and encourage collaboration.

• Effective time management, including setting and prioritizing goals and using time efficiently.
• Flexibility in assisting with department staffing needs.

Nice To Haves

• Recent full-time active experience with a 911 Emergency Service Agency or MICU Transport Company.
