About The Position

The Flight Paramedic provides high quality, comprehensive clinical care to ill and/or injured patients in the air medical transport environment. This part-time position is based out of KVPC in Cartersville, Georgia.

Requirements

  • Must be a Nationally Registered Paramedic currently licensed in the United States.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience as a paramedic required.
  • Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Ability to interface with technology demands involved in delivering care within aeromedical operations.
  • Successful applicant must comply with federal contractor vaccine mandate requirements.
  • Able to read, analyze, and interpret health and flight-related journals, hospital records, and job-specific legal documents.
  • Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Must have a US valid passport.
  • Must be able to pass a federal background check to obtain a security clearance.
  • Must be able to pass drug and background screen.

Nice To Haves

  • five (5) years or more preferred experience as a paramedic.
  • Transport Professional Advanced Trauma Course (TPATC) certification through the Air & Surface Transport Nurses Association (ASTNA) is preferred.
  • Certified Flight Paramedic (FP-C) – OR – Certified Critical Care Paramedic certification through the International Board of Specialty Certification (IBSC) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Required to meet the minimum monthly call availability requirements.
  • Must be available for all missions on his/her call days.
  • When on call, the Flight Paramedic must respond to and arrive at the VPC medical office within 3 hours from the time of notification.
  • Provide patient care as a Flight Paramedic from initial contact until care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility or EMS service.
  • Comply with safety standards to assure safety of self, team members, patient(s), and equipment throughout all phases of flight.
  • Maintain thorough patient care documentation utilizing the company’s electronic health record.
  • Demonstrate competency in knowledge by participating in clinical, didactic, and laboratory experiences.
  • Attend pre-mission briefing and mission de-briefing. Plan and prepare by reviewing patient information. Communicate clearly and effectively with clinical leadership and sending/receiving clinical team members.
  • Participate and contribute to Phoenix Air Group - Air Ambulance Division committees, projects, and initiatives, while consistently representing the organization in a positive and professional manner across all internal and public interactions, including on social media.
  • Attend clinical staff meetings, either in-person or online, and participate in the development and review of patient care guidelines and standards, as assigned.
  • Must be able to perform all flight missions as assigned, to include but not limited to, flights involving patients with High Consequence Infectious Diseases (HCIDs).
  • May have the opportunity to deploy Outside the Continental United States (OCONUS) in support of Phoenix Air Group missions abroad.
