About The Position

Northrop Grumman’s Space Sector is seeking a Flight Inspector – Level 1 or Level 2 to join our Receiving Inspection team in Promontory, UT. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 0 years additional education and/or related experience (for Level 1).
  • High School diploma or equivalent and 2 years additional education and/or related experience (for Level 2).
  • Knowledge of working with government contractors.
  • SMI (Standard Measuring Instruments) experience.
  • Interpret drawings and specifications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of GD&T.
  • Excellent shop math skills and advanced trigonometry.
  • Experience with ISO 9000/AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
  • Must have good computer skills.
  • Must be able to work shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
  • Able to acquire and maintain Employee Possessor (EP) status under the Safe Explosives Act (SEA).
  • Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time, walk up and down stairs, climb up ladders, reach into tight spaces, and lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Experience with Continuous Improvement/PES techniques (for Level 2).

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual, in-process and final dimensional inspections on tightly tolerance piece parts, subassemblies and final assemblies.
  • Perform certification and data package reviews from various suppliers and vendors.
  • Performs required inspections in accordance with procedures and planning documentation.
  • Performs required inspections using standard measurement instruments.
  • Must be able to work shift work, weekends, holidays, and overtime as required.
  • Able to acquire and maintain Employee Possessor (EP) status under the Safe Explosives Act (SEA).
  • Other duties as assigned
