About The Position

Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) is hiring a Flight Engineering Manager. The Rocket Propulsion Team on the Space Launch System (SLS) program analyzes, designs, develops, tests, integrates, and operates the various propulsion subsystems on the different stages of the SLS. The ideal candidate will excel in both the engineering technical acumen/excellence required for this role while being an engaging and motivating people leader.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
5+ years of experience overseeing rocket propulsion design development
10+ years of engineering experience
Basic office software applications
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility.
Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in the areas of Flight Engineering
Develop and execute project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals
Acquire resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers, and leads process improvements
Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports
Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes
Manage / Oversee project / program cost accounts
Prioritize the development and career growth of his/her employees and team
Inspire and empower your team through collaboration, communication, and caring
Building and nurturing an inclusive culture by seeking out different perspectives, speaking up with ideas or concerns, and actively listening to teammates and stakeholders
