About The Position

RTX is offering internships for students interested in aerospace and defense. This internship provides a foundation to work on complex problems, advance skills, and contribute to creating a safer, more connected world. Interns will develop control algorithms and signal processing for flight control systems, define and review system requirements, develop models and simulation tools, and conduct system verification and validation. They will also support product certification through ARP4754A/B compliant system development and DO-178B/C compliant software development. Interns will gain practical skills in data analysis, system integration, test development, and verification processes, along with hands-on experience with system engineering artifacts and collaboration with a diverse engineering team.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent STEM discipline.
  • Must be actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
  • This job requires a U.S. Person.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with Matlab/Simulink
  • Knowledge of control systems theory
  • General knowledge of aviation and/or flight control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop control algorithms and signal processing for flight control systems, including flight guidance, autothrottle, and attitude control systems.
  • Define and review system requirements for flight control systems, including functional requirements and interface requirements.
  • Develop models and simulation tools for various types of closed loop systems to assess performance.
  • Conduct system verification and validation of control algorithms, flight control system functional requirements, and interface requirements.
  • Support product certification at all levels by performing ARP4754A/B compliant system development and DO-178B/C compliant software development.
