About The Position

The Flexographic Print Manager is responsible for leading all flexographic printing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production while meeting customer requirements, production schedules, food safety standards, and business objectives. This role provides operational leadership, technical expertise, and team development for the printing department, driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance productivity, quality, and cost performance. The Print Manager serves as the department’s subject matter expert for flexographic printing processes and collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to support overall plant performance.

Requirements

  • Minimum of seven (7) years of flexographic printing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of leadership experience managing production teams in a manufacturing setting.
  • Proficiency with manufacturing systems, production reporting, and performance metrics.

Nice To Haves

  • Flexible packaging printing experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience working within food packaging, food safety, GMP, and SQF-regulated environments preferred.
  • Demonstrated success improving safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement metrics.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily flexographic printing operations to meet production, quality, safety, and delivery goals.
  • Optimize scheduling, workflow, resource allocation, and operational performance by monitoring metrics such as uptime, waste, labor efficiency, and OEE.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert for flexographic printing, providing expertise in color management, anilox and plate technologies, ink systems, and troubleshooting.
  • Drive improvements in print quality, equipment performance, and adoption of new technologies.
  • Ensure products meet customer, quality, food safety, GMP, SQF, and regulatory standards.
  • Lead efforts to improve color consistency, reduce defects, strengthen process controls, and resolve quality issues through corrective actions.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing and data-driven improvement initiatives focused on reducing waste, improving efficiency, increasing uptime, lowering costs, and enhancing overall department performance.
  • Provide direction and accountability for printing teams, including hiring, training, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and developing future leaders while fostering teamwork and employee engagement.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and safe work practices.
  • Lead safety training, observations, investigations, and corrective actions to prevent incidents.
