About The Position

Packaging Corporation of America is recruiting a 3rd shift Flexo Operator at its Lancaster, Pennsylvania facility. The operator sets up and operates machinery, including a flexo folder gluer and rotary die cutter, and is responsible for productivity, quality, and waste. The operator also leads the crew during training, verifies materials against customer requirements, and works with the team to meet daily goals.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a machine operator.
• Strong knowledge of machinery troubleshooting.
• At least 6 months of packaging or printing experience with a Flexo Folder Gluer or Rotary Die Cutter.
• Strong safety background.
• Good attendance record.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to understand, execute, and provide verbal and written instructions.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Strong computer skills and ability to accurately complete required computer and paperwork tasks.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor machinery, including flexo folder gluers and rotary die cutters.
• Take responsibility for productivity, quality, and waste.
• Lead the crew in the training process.
• Mount printing and cutting dies to a cylinder or shaft.
• Mix and adjust ink viscosity.
• Perform quality checks on each order.
• Verify materials against customer requirements before running.
• Work with the team to meet daily goals.
• Accurately enter production data into the computer each day.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance and housekeeping.
• Follow established processes, procedures, safety rules, and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
