About The Position

Sunstates Security is currently hiring Flex SOC Operators in the North Canton, OH area. This is an on-call/as-needed position offering a pay rate of $19.00/hr, paid weekly. The Flex Officer position is crucial to the company’s operational and financial success, providing trained, competent support by working shifts that become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This ensures continual, uninterrupted service to customers while protecting the health and work-life balance of personnel. The scheduling parameters for a flex officer differ from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post. Flex officers will be trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need, and assignments may not be permanent. Schedules will vary based on operational need, and officers will be assigned or offered shifts as they become available. Some shifts will be scheduled in advance, while others may be short-notice call-ins. Officers are expected to work shifts scheduled in advance and at least 80% of short-notice call-in shifts. Refusing more than 20% of called-in shifts may negatively impact employment status. A Security Officer performs duties as specified by Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), requiring extensive knowledge and the ability to act quickly and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Previous security, law enforcement, and/or military experience preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Must be able to work various shifts, days, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be flexible and team oriented.
  • 2+ years of experience in a customer service role.
  • Exceptional report writing skills.
  • Must be reliable.
  • High School diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Provide trained, competent support by working shifts that become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes.
  • Ensure continual, uninterrupted service to customers.
  • Be trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need.
  • Work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance which falls within the availability described on this sheet.
  • Communicate unavailability for upcoming dates or times that would normally fall within availability.
  • Work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called in for short-notice call-ins.
  • Read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP.
  • Act quickly and efficiently according to Post Orders and SOP directives.
