About The Position

Sunstates Security is seeking to hire Flex Security Officers in the Henderson, KY area to work as needed/on-call. This position offers a pay rate of $15.50/hr, paid weekly. The Flex Officer position is crucial to the company’s operational and financial success, providing trained, competent support by working shifts that become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes. This enables Sunstates to provide continual, uninterrupted service to customers while protecting the health and work balance of personnel. The scheduling parameters for a flex officer are different from those of an employee assigned to a fixed post. As a flex officer, you will be trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need. Your schedule (shifts, days off, hours per week, etc.) will vary based on operational need. You will be assigned to, or offered the opportunity to accept, shifts as they become available due to staffing needs. Some shifts will be scheduled in advance, while others may be short-notice call-ins. A Security Officer may perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), acting quickly and efficiently according to such directives.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of security, military, and/or law enforcement experience preferred.
  • 1+ years of customer service experience.
  • Exceptional report writing skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and with others well.
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior truck gate experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide trained, competent support by working shifts that become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes.
  • Be trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need.
  • Work shifts as they become available due to staffing needs.
  • Accept shifts offered as they become available.
  • Work shifts scheduled in advance which fall within the availability described.
  • Communicate unavailability on upcoming dates or times to supervisor.
  • Work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called in for short-notice call-ins.
  • Perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP.
  • Act quickly and efficiently according to directives.
