About The Position

Sunstates Security is seeking a Flex Security Officer for the Toledo, Ohio area. This on-call/as-needed position offers a pay rate of $17.00/hr with weekly pay. The Flex Officer is crucial to the company's operational and financial success, providing trained and competent support for shifts that become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other reasons. This ensures continual, uninterrupted service to customers while protecting the health and work-life balance of personnel. The role involves working at various posts and/or facilities based on operational needs, with schedules that will vary based on demand. Officers may be scheduled in advance or called with short notice to cover shifts. A Security Officer performs a multitude of duties as specified by Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), requiring knowledge of these directives and the ability to act quickly and efficiently.

Requirements

  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Two years of experience in security, military, or law enforcement is preferred.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Willing and able to work holidays, weekends, and in all weather conditions.
  • Must regularly stand or walk for extended periods of time and distance.
  • Exceptional report writing skills.
  • Mentally analyze a situation, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure in the area of responsibility.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Read and understand written instruction and communicate information and ideas in a clear and concise written form.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of experience in security, military, or law enforcement is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide trained, competent support by working shifts that become open due to illness, call-offs, weather, vacation, or other causes.
  • Ensure continual, uninterrupted service to customers.
  • Protect the health and work-life balance of personnel.
  • Be trained at various posts and/or facilities based on operational need.
  • Work any shift for which you are scheduled in advance which falls within the availability described.
  • Communicate unavailability for upcoming dates or times to the supervisor.
  • Work at least 80% of the shifts for which you are called for short-notice call-ins.
  • Perform a multitude of duties as specified by the Post Orders and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Read and become extremely knowledgeable of Post Orders and SOP.
  • Act quickly and efficiently according to directives from Post Orders and SOP.
