About The Position

MedSpeed is a healthcare logistics company that partners with healthcare organizations to transport medical supplies, specimens, and other materials. The Flex Medical Delivery Driver transports items such as lab specimens, medical records, pharmaceuticals, x-rays, hospital supplies, interoffice mail, and related materials in a company-owned vehicle. Drivers begin and end their day at the MedSpeed Hub in Houston’s Westchase area. Flex drivers must have open availability to work any route, day, or time. Routes and duties may vary based on client and business needs, and assignments may change. Drivers are expected to perform duties across any routes to which they are assigned while providing safe, reliable, and professional service.

Requirements

• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Must be at least 19 years old and have held an active driver’s license for 3 years.
• Demonstrated dependability and reliability.
• Familiarity with and ability to adapt to technology.
• Demonstrated ability to follow procedures closely.
• Ability to determine efficient routing between multiple points.
• Ability to pass initial and random drug and alcohol screening.
• Ability to drive a non-commercial vehicle throughout the shift on various roads and in varying weather conditions.
• Excellent driving history.
• Proof of COVID-19 vaccination depending on location and local mandates.
• Ability to regularly lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, including items from storage racks.
• Comfort with walking long distances and standing for long periods.
• Open availability to be scheduled on any route, any day, and any time.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a company-owned vehicle to transport medical and related materials.
• Use a handheld scanning device to accurately track items throughout the transportation cycle.
• Follow operating policies, procedures, and service schedules.
• Present a professional image to clients and the public through appearance and interactions.
• Load and unload company vehicles using appropriate equipment.
• Demonstrate safe and courteous driving behavior.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and keep the vehicle clean, neat, and orderly.
• Perform all duties across assigned routes and adapt to changing route assignments and client needs.
• Demonstrate teamwork, cooperation, and adaptability with teammates and clients.
• Help build and nurture a collaborative MedSpeed team culture.
