Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • NMLS License required.
  • A Notary License is required or must be obtained within 9 months of hire.
  • Acquire a foundational understanding of the Commercial Loan Products offered by the credit union. Submit referrals to the Commercial Loan Department as appropriate.
  • Gain a working knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) requirements and how they will affect their work. The employee will comply with all requirements of the BSA and cooperate with the designated BSA Officer in assuring compliance.
  • 4+ years of extensive customer service and sales experience, preferably in the financial industry, encompassing areas such as customer service, needs-based selling, goal achievement, cash handling, account and loan intake and funding, project participation, team collaboration, and community engagement.
  • Critical thinker with the ability to creatively solve problems and develop business plans.
  • Committed to active listening, anticipating, and addressing the needs and concerns of both internal and external customers.
  • Effective communication with team members and peers to foster a supportive and collaborative network.
  • Demonstrates engagement, enthusiasm, and passion by delivering exceptional service to both internal and external members.
  • Needs-based selling with exception product knowledge.
  • Microsoft Office Software.

Responsibilities

  • Promoting the financial well-being of members across multiple branch locations by delivering exceptional service, building strong relationships, and providing tailored financial solutions.
  • Supporting various branches as needed, ensuring continuity of service, operational efficiency, and consistent member experience.
  • Guiding members toward appropriate account and loan products, cross-selling credit union services, and referring members to other lines of business.
  • Accurately processing transactions and maintaining cash handling standards.
  • Delivering exceptional member service by accurately processing all branch transactions following proper procedures which include deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, transfers, check cashing, traveler’s checks, money orders, placing check holds, verifying identification and endorsements, wire transactions, and maintaining a balanced cash drawer.
  • Engaging with Heritage Financial teammates development initiatives and actively participating in personal growth using available resources.
  • Meeting or exceeding established performance goals.
  • Organizing priorities effectively to achieve monthly goals while maintaining a high standard of work quality.
  • Responding to inbound member calls, addressing their needs by assisting with account placement and consumer loan products (excluding real estate loans) and promote and facilitating digital enrollments and adoption for all HFCU products and services.
  • Utilizing critical thinking skills to identify and provide the best options for members, particularly in cross-selling opportunities and addressing their needs.
  • Performing duties in compliance with federal and state regulations, as well as Credit Union policies and procedures.
  • Performing account and loan intake and funding.
  • Managing digital inquiries and requests across various platforms, including chat, online accounts, and marketing leads.
  • Acquiring a foundational understanding of the Commercial Loan Products offered by the credit union and submit referrals to the Commercial Loan Department as appropriate.
  • Participating in outbound activities limited to community events and volunteering.
  • Effectively performing Lobby Engagement and First Impression Opening daily.
  • Working as a team supporting and championing each other.
  • Having high energy, supporting and embracing the credit union initiatives.
  • Displaying empathy and the ability to remain professional during challenging times.
  • Ability to open and close the branch as assigned by branch management.
  • Completing all required training as assigned.
