About The Position

The Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG) is accepting applications for Fleet Technician, Announcement #2610. This is a full-time position located at the Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Maintenance Facility. The salary is $21.15 per hour. This position is responsible for routine maintenance on all TRAX fleet vehicles and coordinating with the Fleet Supervisor. The position also performs preventative maintenance inspections and service on a scheduled basis. The technician will respond to vehicle issues, assisting in diagnosing and correcting problems when possible. Applicants must identify how they meet the minimum qualifications and respond in detail to the KSA's in the "Worked Performed" blocks of the application. Additional related education and experience will be considered after meeting the minimum qualifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma, or equivalent.
• Three (5) years of experience in basic automotive or large equipment service and repair, or a combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
• Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, power trains, air conditioning units, brakes, and transmission repair.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to see, hear, reach, stoop, bend, and lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must possess a valid Driver's License subject to an approved motor vehicle report.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on all TRAX fleet vehicles.

• Maintain fleet activity and organize a maintenance shop.
