About The Position

The Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG) is accepting applications for a full-time Fleet Technician, Announcement #2610, located at the Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Maintenance Facility. This role is responsible for the routine maintenance of all TRAX fleet vehicles, coordinating with the Fleet Supervisor. The position involves performing scheduled preventative maintenance inspections and services, as well as diagnosing and correcting vehicle issues as they arise.

Requirements

High school diploma, or equivalent, plus three (5) years experience in basic automotive or large equipment service and repair; or combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, power trains, air conditioning units, brakes and transmission repair.
Ability to maintain fleet activity and organize a maintenance shop.
Ability to order supplies and equipment.
Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
Ability to communicate with staff and vendors regarding fleet needs and repairs.
Ability to see, hear, reach, stoop, bend, and lift and carry up to 30 pounds required.
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must possess a valid Driver's License subject to an approved motor vehicle report.
