Homemakers is seeking a hands-on, dependable Fleet Technician to help keep their fleet of trucks, vans, forklifts, and warehouse equipment running safely and efficiently. This role is crucial for maintaining the success of the delivery team and ensuring customer satisfaction. Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic, automotive technician, fleet technician, or similar role preferred.
  • Strong understanding of preventive maintenance for trucks, vans, forklifts, and warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to diagnose issues and complete minor to moderate repairs independently.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with lift gates, truck boxes, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and forklifts is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance on fleet vehicles including oil changes, fluid checks, filter replacements, and DEF refills.
  • Inspect and service brakes, tires, steering, suspension, batteries, and lighting systems.
  • Complete lift gate maintenance, safety checks, and minor hydraulic or electrical repairs.
  • Maintain truck boxes, seals, roll-up doors, swing doors, and related components.
  • Perform minor welding, cable replacements, and roller adjustments.
  • Track service schedules and maintenance records using Samsara fleet management software.
  • Maintain inventory of commonly used truck parts.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment.
  • Inspect hydraulic systems, batteries, chargers, forks, mast components, and safety systems on warehouse equipment.
  • Coordinate repairs with outside service providers for warehouse equipment when needed.
  • Help ensure warehouse equipment remains safe, reliable, and ready for daily use.
  • Shuttle trucks and vans to repair vendors for major service work.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records for compliance and scheduling.
  • Communicate equipment downtime and repair priorities with managers and team members.
  • Support fleet and equipment needs across departments.
